As spring comes to an end, and we prepare for warm, sunny days ahead, I can’t help but thinking about summer. If you’re like me, you cherish the day that the weather starts to get warmer. The days get longer. The nights sparkle with a spattering of fireflies and stars. There’s a sense of adventure in the air. And all of this talk of summer makes me think about one of my favorite past times: summer travel. One of my favorite warm-weather destinations? Palm Springs, California.
Last summer, I was lucky to get the chance to spend six weeks in gorgeous Palm Springs shooting the very first season of my new TV show, Naturally, Danny Seo for NBC. My good friend Jules Moore is an unbelievable designer, and her Palm Springs home exudes grace, beauty, and modern simplicity. I couldn’t have been more thrilled when she offered her stunning abode as the set for my TV show.
From the chic aesthetic to the quintessential Palm Springs décor, there are so many parts of this home that I adore. But, the kitchen truly is a work of art. At first glance, you can just tell that this space is a hotbed of creativity, laughter, and delicious food. It couldn’t have been a better setting for the cooking segments of my show, and I loved experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen in between filming.
One of the things I love most about Jules is that in addition to her chic style, living a sustainable, green lifestyle is extremely important to her. When designing her Palm Springs home, she looked for ways to minimize her home’s footprint without sacrificing style or functionality. While incorporating green solutions throughout the entire home was important, she paid special attention to the items that were incorporated into the kitchen. Luckily, by choosing to include Bosch appliances into her kitchen design, she’s not only using less natural resources, but also benefiting from the premium, quality features offered by Bosch.
For example, the Bosch induction cooktop provides the perfect surface for preparing fresh fish fillets, tasty seasonal vegetables, or even your favorite buckwheat pancakes. But what many people don’t know is that induction is one of the most energy efficient cooking technologies available to consumers. Similarly, an ENERGY STAR® rated Bosch dishwasher helps conserve water when doing the dishes.
To round out the kitchen space and provide the optimal setting for hosting gatherings, Jules also opted to include the Bosch Steam Convection Oven and Bosch Speed Oven. If you’ve read A Modern Haven before, you know how much I adore the Bosch Steam Convection Oven (see my previous posts about how I use the steam oven to make cauliflower brownies and reheat leftovers).
Beyond keeping guests happy, the appliances in this kitchen work together harmoniously to provide a seamless, enjoyable cooking experience. And in Palm Springs especially, creating a kitchen space that inspires delicious meals and special memories is crucial. I will always cherish the summer I spent in Palm Springs at Jules’ home, and I can’t wait to visit again this year for more beautiful evenings celebrated in her stunning Bosch kitchen.
Planning to hit the road this summer? I’d love to hear where you will be traveling to. Let me know in the comments below.
