It’s that time of year again. Scents of the season fill our homes, and holiday excitement fills the air as friends and family gather in our kitchens. If you’re like me, you’ll quickly realize that your home has become the de facto entertaining hub during the holidays, and the struggle will quickly become oh so real. How do you find the time to prepare delicious meals, spend quality time with loved ones, and take care of yourself along the way? Read on for my favorite kitchen tips and tricks to help make your spirits bright during the holidays.
Step 1: Prepare the Menu
There’s nothing like letting the sights and sounds of the season inspire your menu during the holidays. My advice is related to something you likely do every week: let the brightly colored, in-season produce help guide your creativity in the kitchen. While it is becoming easier to find many foods year round, choosing fruits and vegetables according to their peak seasons helps insure that your meals will be fresh and delicious. During winter months, seasonal favorites like cranberries and Brussels sprouts are sure to add color and nutrition to your holiday meals. Looking for a few recipes to spark your imagination? Step 2: Prepare the Meal
When prepping for large gatherings, try cutting vegetables or making marinades in advance and storing them in your Bosch French Door Refrigerator. The spacious Bosch units offer plenty of storage options for your holiday meal ingredients, plus any other groceries you may have on hand. Plus, taking care of the prep work ahead of time, means you’ll have more time to spend with friends and family. Isn’t that what the holidays are really about?
Step 3: Pamper yourself!
I know what you’re probably thinking. With all this shopping, cooking, and inevitable post-meal cleaning during the holidays, there’s no time for “me time.” But humor me for a moment and Do Just One Thing: While your holiday roast bakes in your Bosch Steam Oven, head to your kitchen sink with a small handful of leftover coffee grinds. Add soap and water, and there you have it—a natural and exfoliating hand scrub to make your skin oh so soft (and it smells good, too). Rinse with warm water, and after only a few moments, you will feel relaxed and ready to prepare your next holiday feast.
Remember, taking care of yourself means you’ll be better equipped to take care of those around you. Watch this video to learn how to create this spa treatment in your kitchen.
