Over the past couple of months, we’ve talked quite a bit about the small spaces trend, especially as it relates to kitchen design. Small, metropolitan apartments are becoming a more common reality for city dwellers, resulting in the demand for premium appliances with a compact footprint. And when faced with a smaller kitchen, a designer often must summon a new level of ingenuity to maximize the area and provide a highly-functional space. But just as a small kitchen can challenge a designer and present out-of-this-world results, I believe the same can be true when faced with the rare luxury of a large, spacious kitchen. Read on to see how Thomboy Property designers, Jackie Thomas and DeeAnn McCoy, were inspired by the stunning architecture of the massive Sierra Way property. The end result is a gorgeous kitchen that perfectly fits the needs of the home’s inhabitants.
Many of us dream of our “ideal kitchen,” envisioning a large space filled with every tool and gadget imaginable. But then, when reality sets in, and you start to think about the tools that provide value to your life, what would your dream kitchen actually look like? There are so many choices – from lighting and finishes to cabinetry and appliances, it’s no wonder that so many of us enlist in the help of kitchen designers! When you pair the expertise of the Thomboy Properties design duo and the inspiring bones of the Sierra Way property, we have a recipe for awe-inspiring kitchen design.
When Thomboy Properties signed on to design the Sierra Way remodel, they really struck gold. The structure provided a perfect canvas for the project, including beautiful architectural roots, and plenty of square footage to bring their design dreams to life.
The Sierra Way property is pretty mesmerizing, and a glance at the lovely kitchen space is enough to have you dreaming of the countless delicious meals that can easily be created in this roomy, kitchen haven. But the large footprint of this kitchen also presented the designers with a few challenges.
For example, how can you keep the space from looking cluttered with too many appliances or devices? Also, how do you make all the competing design elements come together harmoniously into one collective aesthetic? However, neither question seemed to phase the designers as they took their design cues from their pick of Bosch appliances to unify the space.
The marriage of elegance and functionality was at the root of each design choice in the Palm Springs property. Understanding that the Palm Springs lifestyle is very social, Jackie and DeeAnn first opted to feature two side-by-side Bosch 30” Built-In Custom Panel Refrigerators, providing ample space for fresh, organic produce, artisanal meats and cheeses, and all the fixings for the perfect nightcap. From there, the beautiful, honey-colored cabinetry continues to wrap around the adjacent walls, seamlessly delivering a variety of storage options, while also displaying a Bosch Gas Cooktop and a Bosch Built-In Coffee Machine. Up next is a jaw-dropping installation of two Bosch SideOpening Wall Ovens and a Bosch Steam Convection Oven, which entirely envelops the main wall of the space. And last but not least, a team of Bosch Custom Panel Dishwashers provide the residents with enough loading capacity to keep up with back-to-back social gatherings, especially during the busy holiday season!
It goes without saying that Jackie and DeeAnn truly are design experts. The Sierra Way home is just one of their many projects that never ceases to amaze me.
